Home insurers are benefiting from a combination of strong economic performance and benign weather conditions, according to Defaqto. In its recent report into the UK Home Insurance Market, Defaqto said this had attracted many new entrants and, in turn, had made the market increasingly competitive. Defaqto's head of insight, Brian Brown, said: "We expect to see the downward pressures on premiums continue as use of the internet to buy insurance intensifies and consumers become hungrier for bargains
