Software Solutions Partners (SSP) is planning to integrateCoverMaker, the online trading solution for the commercial lines market, with its own systems to create a ready-made market for brokers and adistribution system for insurers.

The move follows the announcement that The Broker Network had teamed upwith SSP to provide the company with the sales and distribution rights tothe CoverMaker product.

SSP will make the system available to its existing commercial linescustomers as well as subscribers to the recently launched CommercialConnect service.

The firm has more than 300 brokers currently using its existing commerciallines trading technology. It is hoped that the integration will providegreater scope for insurer connectivity and flexibility of quoting, alongwith cost-saving opportunities for both broker and the risk-carrier.

SSP also intends to integrate CoverMaker with its new corporate brokingand insurer technology platform, Insight.

This development would see CoverMaker made available as a component withinInsight - a package which, in its first UK deployments, will be aimedparticularly at large commercial broking organisations.

SSP's chief executive, David Rasche, said: "Much is talked about thelong-awaited, and sometimes hyped, technology breakthrough in thecommercial lines market. With CoverMaker, we will be able to make valuableadditional facilities available to our customers, hundreds of whom alreadytrade electronically in commercial lines."
