
BGL rises on Britain’s 250 Largest
This was the fourth annual ranking of Britain’s 250 mid-market companies, which is based on latest sales records. In the case of Peterborough-based BLG, the rank was determined from its £212m in sales during the 2006-2007 fiscal year. BLG’s rank topped Manchester United Football Club, McLaren racing cars and Harvey Nichols department stores.
The 250 companies on the 2008 list generated combined sales of £69bn and employed more than 477,000 staff representing approximately 5% of GDP and 1.5%
