Professional indemnity market shows no sign of slow down and attracts slew of new entrants

A slew of changes in the professional indemnity (PI) sector hit the market in March.

First of all, Nexus Underwriting Management launched a new Lloyd’s managing general agency, Nexus Professional Risk, focused on professional indemnity and management liability business. The launch came after its purchase in October last year of Novae Syndicates’ Regional Financial Lines business.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
