The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has announced consumers may be entitled to up to £48,000 compensation if they have lost money from dealings with any of the 33 firms it has declared in default. Loretta Minghella, FSCS chief executive said: "This highlights the importance of a fund of last resort for those consumers who would otherwise have nowhere to turn. If they had dealings with one of these firms, we may be able to help." Full details of the firms that are in default are
