Petchey: “Strong demand” in schemes gives Markel opportunity to diversify
Mike Petchey, head of schemes at Markel, is seeing “strong demand” in the market, highlighting the number of possibilities when it comes to schemes is enormous.
RolePetchey was promoted to the newly created of head of schemes last month to lead the new team, following six years at Markel.
He said they’d been trading in schemes “for a number of years now”. “We have really good experience in this space,” he said. “So it’s looking at how we can really put structure in to turbo charge that growth.”
Markel currently has different underwriters that look after individual parts of the schemes business. That is going to be brought together under a single structure
