Proposed changes to the way the FSCS is funded are causing concern, says Steve White

Having called for a review of the Financial Services Consultation Scheme’s current funding model for longer than Mr Cameron has been prime minister, I am pleased that the formal revision process is now ‘live’. The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has recently published consultation paper CP12/16, setting out fundamental changes to a funding mechanism that has been in place since 2008. This consultation paper proposes a number of significant changes, two of which are causing insurance brokers
