The issue of Goodwill is still rumbling on, with little sign that the Financial Services Authority (FSA) is seeing sense and changing its stance. As it stands, from 18 January 2008, the concession regarding Goodwill will finish, and it will be ignored in calculating any solvency margin.

Any broker that does not have sufficient tangible assets to cover its debts and meet the solvency requirements, will be asked to resolve the situation. If it does not complete this in a defined short period
