IFB launch model to protect brokers from fraud

The Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) has unveiled a new broker membership model which it hopes will open intelligence sharing to a wider broker audience.

The IFB claims it will strengthen the industry's collective fight against organised fraud.

The new structure comes as the Association of British Insurers (ABI) estimate detected insurance fraud costs are at £1.3 billion, with a further £2.1 billion going undetected.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
