NFU Mutual is looking to increase its presence in the broker market,
and has appointed CGU's former director, broker marketing, Neil McKenzie
to spearhead its acquisition campaign.


Mr McKenzie took up the role of assistant general at the direct farm
insurer's head office, in Stratford-Upon-Avon, in October.


Over the last couple of years, NFU Mutual has bought 13 brokerages, which
represent a total of 17 branches or highstreet shops. The portfolio ranges
from £1.5m to £5m premium income firms, and

ABI records 3% home premiums rise in Q1

Average home insurance premiums for buildings and contents cover rose by 3% to £375 in the first quarter of this year, pushing the year-on-year rise up to 19%, according to the Association of British Insurers.
