Brokers looking for capacity should consider the smaller insurance
companies, according to Roger Williams, marketing manager of
Congregational & General.


Mr Williams said: "We want to welcome smaller brokers, who may be having
difficulty meeting the big boys' targets. The smaller the target, the
higher percentage of business the broker has to place with one insurer to
meet it. Brokers can get over-reliant on one insurer but they should keep
looking around."

ABI records 3% home premiums rise in Q1

Average home insurance premiums for buildings and contents cover rose by 3% to £375 in the first quarter of this year, pushing the year-on-year rise up to 19%, according to the Association of British Insurers.
