An issue of education
With all the recent reports of the Financial Services Authority (FSA) gaining beefed-up powers and fighting turf wars with the Bank of England, I can't help thinking that one of its main remits has been steadily relegated in the process. When it was set up, the FSA took on the role of educating the public on financial matters and providing it with a better understanding of how insurance works.
Yet 12 years on, the steady commoditisation of insurance products encouraged by the aggregators means
