UK nuclear push reveals unfair terms

Lord Truscott, parliamentary under secretary of state for energy, is reported to have said recently that there will be no subsidy or other support to help build new nuclear power stations in the UK. However, nuclear power companies are only required to pay a small fraction of the cost of fully insuring against a Chernobyl-style accident - or worse. If we are to have a level playing field for different sources of energy, then this generous subsidy to the nuclear industry should be removed.
