The threat of redundancy hangs over the 850 staff of AGF following
the news that Cornhill will acquire the renewal rights to much of its
business as part of Allianz's 51% takeover of the AGF group.


While a decision about staffing will not be made until October, a
spokesman at Cornhill confirmed that as part of the AGF integration into
Allianz, the AGF brand in the UK would disappear and that redundancies
would be inevitable.
