New regulations have changed the way insureds are required to approach inspections of plant and machinery. Steve Banner reports.

Eagle Star Engineering's move to involve over 1700 brokers in a
modular training programme under the EduCare banner is in part a response
to important legislative changes. They include the introduction of the
provision and use of work equipment regulations (PUWER) and lifting
operations and lifting equipment regulations (LOLER), both of which come
into force on 5 December this year.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
