The world according to Aon.

Almost overnight, Aon has become the biggest broker in the UK. To ensure the continuation of this success, Aon has just gone through a major restructuring. Tim Collison spoke to Michael Eve about the changes at Aon Risk Services.

The rise of Aon is little short of phenomenal. Since 1982, the Aon
Corporation has swallowed up 13 international brokers - all giants in
their own right. At the end of 1996, Aon in the UK bought Bain Hogg and
then in 1997 went on to buy Alexander & Alexander and the Minet Group.

Across its three entities, Aon Risk Services, Aon Group Ltd and Aon
Consulting, Aon in the UK now employs some 10,000 people and its operating
revenue in 1997 came in at a cool £542m.
