Avon Insurance is planning to take on 10 new underwriters in a bid to
increase its presence in the commercial lines market.

The company currently employs about 50 underwriters spread over 10
underwriting centres nationwide.

Jeremy Diston, commercial development officer at Avon, said: "The current
plan is to take on an extra 10 underwriters for the commercial
underwriting centres. We want to take on new staff due to a combination of
market demand and an aging underwriting population."
