Crowe Insurance Group is expanding its interests at Lloyd's, creating
new opportunities for brokers. The group wants new syndicate 1240, which
targets professional indemnity and medical malpractice, to increase its
capacity by nearly 30% in 2001. It is also aiming for motor syndicate 963
to increase in capacity from £125m to at least £145m. A spokesperson said:
"We are interested in hearing from any one who can put forward a viable
business proposition."

ALA expands range with pothole insurance

Yorkshire-based GAP insurance provider ALA Insurance has expanded its product offering with the launch of a specialist pothole insurance policy, in a move it claimed targets one of the “more persistent and costly problems facing UK motorists”.
