FSCS opens for claims from customers of failed broker Anthony Jones

regulation-torn

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme has opened to claims from customers who paid for insurance through collapsed broker Anthony Jones (U.K.) but find themselves without the relevant cover and unable to recover the premiums by other means.

The Financial Conduct Authority stopped Kent-based Anthony Jones from conducting regulated business in July. The broker previously worked across business insurance, commercial motor and personal lines.

The FCA advised customers to contact the underwriter or insurer directly to check whether the policy was valid and if cover remained in place.
