The integration of the branch structures of General Accident and
Commercial Union will result in the closure of approximately 50 sites
throughout the UK.


At the end of last month, CGU announced that it was rationalising its
network from 100 sites to just over 50. This process will involve closing
satellite offices in the same location in order to focus on one key
branch, and also closing branches in areas where there is a larger or more
strategic branch nearby.
