The Advertising Standards Authority has decided not to uphold the
complaints made by NIG Skandia and Broker Direct against Direct Line's
household advertising, despite indicating to the contrary in a draft
recommendation two months ago.


The complaints concerned Direct Line's recent mailing which claimed:
"Someone could be picking your pocket and you could be letting them do it!
They like to call it commission." Both NIG and Broker Direct complained
that the direct mailing unfairly denigrated

Broking profits fall at Saga
