The Association of British Insurers has issued a leaflet advising
consumers on how personal lines insurance may be affected by the
millennium.


The document makes it clear that losses occurring as a direct result of
the year 2000 will not be insured, as it is a predictable and foreseeable
event.


It also emphasises that what will be covered will vary from insurer to
insurer.
