ABI questions Ombudsman's publishing policy

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has questioned the Ombudsman’s policy of publishing all its decisions.

The ABI argued that although a small number of consumer complaints to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) could raise broader industry-wide issues, the very individual and unique nature of the vast majority of cases made reading lessons into thousands of decisions impractical and potentially misleading.

The association called on the Government to adopt a more balanced approach in its legislation, giving the FOS the right to publish only those decisions that may serve a useful purpose for

Aviva doubling down for customers, says Martin
