Tokio Marine HCC buys fleet specialist MGA Direct Commercial
Tokio Marine HCC International has struck a deal to buy Chelmsford-based motor managing general agent Direct Commercial Limited, entering a new sector.
Founded in 2002 fleet expert DCL writes over £200m in gross written premium with specialisms including haulage, courier and the waste industry. The portfolio includes multi-vehicle and individual risks.
Its entire product range is on A+ rated paper from Munich Re owned Great Lakes Insurance UK.
According to the buyer, the MGA insures one in nine commercial trucks on UK roads.
Growth ambitionsTMHCCI confirmed DCL will keep operating as a standalone business with the brand and team staying on.
