Ageas UK GWP jumps as Esure deal flows in

euros-2

Ageas has posted a 72% hike in gross written premiums in the UK to €1.42bn (£1.21bn) for the first half of the year as the takeovers of Esure and Saga’s underwriter Acromas Insurance Company continued to kick in.

The £1.3bn Esure buy completed on 30 September 2025, meaning the impact had started to be seen in the 2025 annual results; however, this has been the first period of full trading.

Ageas did not provide a breakdown of UK business in its half-year results.

The UK sits within the Europe division, which includes Portugal and Turkey but not Belgium.

The Europe unit wrote €2.25bn of premium, up from €1.59bn in the first six months of last year.
