Edgar Hamilton and FE Wright have merged to form a new company called
Sterling Hamilton Wright. The move follows the acquisition of FE Wright by
Edgar Hamilton's parent company, Sterling Insurance Group.


FE Wright staff have now moved into City Reach, Edgar Hamilton's head
office in Docklands. The business of both companies is being assimilated
into a new division.


Terry Wellard has stepped down as chairman of Edgar Hamilton and will
oversee the newly named agency management and marketing division

ABI records 3% home premiums rise in Q1

Average home insurance premiums for buildings and contents cover rose by 3% to £375 in the first quarter of this year, pushing the year-on-year rise up to 19%, according to the Association of British Insurers.
