Insurance Age has produced the third edition of its Top 50 Brokers in Personal Lines supplement, published in conjunction with Cornell Consulting.

The brokers that make up this years Top 50 control some 80% of the overall personal lines broker market. These companies are either specialist or niche players or at the very top, large scale generalists, the rest are commercial players that are holding on to a supplementary personal lines book.

With the personal lines market continuing to outdo its commercial counterpart, Cornell Consulting's Tony Cornell analyses the results from the 2010 Insurance Age survey.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
