Hubbard: the "natural time" to move on from UK General

CEO hails the staff at “powerhouse” MGA.

Group CEO Peter Hubbard has publically thanked all the staff of UK General ahead of his departure after three and half years with the company.

Hubbard, as revealed by Insurance Age, will retire from the Leeds-based managing general agent (MGA) at the end of February.

He confirmed that he would still be undertaking non-executive roles with insurance but joked that he ruled himself out the running to replace Maurice Tulloch as UKGI CEO at Aviva.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
