Legal & General withdraws from ABI
Speculation that insurer is leaving trade body over investment affairs mandate.
Legal & General (L&G) is to quit being a member of the Association of British Insurers (ABI) at the end of 2014.
The insurer said that the company has evolved over time and now a large proportion of its business lines fall outside the remit of the ABI.

Nigel Wilson, chief executive at L&G said in a letter to ABI chief, Otto Thoresen: "Following the recent change in the constitution and mandate of the ABI as a result of the transfer of investment business to the IMA, we have given
