Insurers are becoming 'hacked off' with networks

The news that Aviva and Broker Network have ended their relationship is a sign that networks are falling out of favour with insurers, according to a network chief.

The breakdown in the relationship came after months of negotiations.

James Sharp, director at TEn Insurance Services, said: “I do think insurers are getting hacked off.”

He said that while some networks were working hard for their money by making themselves a part of the process of placing business, others were not.

He commented: “Frankly the proposition [some networks] put to insurers is a bit like being a member of a golf club, where they think they can get 10% off a new Jag or a new BMW, just
