Solicitors' PI market leader Chartis slams SRA consultation
Chartis has been the latest insurer to react to the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority’s (SRA) consultation on the Assigned Risk Pool (ARP).
The insurer, who currently holds the leading share of the primary England and Wales solicitors' market, said the result was hugely disappointing. It called for the ARP to be scrapped and for insurers to be only liable for the exposures they elect to write; with the six year run-off firmly sitting with the last commercial insurer.
The comments came after Zurich raised concern that the SRA was not moving quickly enough to implement change.
