Developers’ policies could be at risk

RSA has warned the construction industry to take better care of any temporarily suspended construction sites during the economic downturn, as there is an increased risk of damage if they are not secured properly.

The insurer said that if sites did not follow the advice given to them by insurance companies, then they may not be insured if equipment is stolen or the construction site itself is subject to vandalism or arson.

David Swigciski, regional training leader for construction at RSA, said:
