Royal & SunAlliance produced an overall combined operating ratio of 93.1% (2004: 96.3%) and an underwriting profit of £154m, an improvement of 62% on last year. Net written premiums were £2.6bn, up 3% on the prior year. Commercial NWP was £1.8bn, up 2% on 2004, while the underwriting profit was £115m, up £43m on the previous year.
