Patrick O'Sullivan, chief executive of Zurich Financial Services, UK
general insurance and banking, kicked off the Professional Broking
conference with a no-holds-barred speech. He stated: "The insurance
industry can't afford to keep losing the amount of money we currently
do."


Mr O'Sullivan painted a bleak picture, stating insurers' losses are
"totally inadequate". He said: "No shareholder will put money into it.
They are beginning to wake up to the real risks of insurance and
investment returns
