Professional services firm Grant Thornton has warned that some brokers are heading for disciplinary action after a recent survey assessing broker preparations for statutory regulation in 2005 found that 11% of respondents intended to continue trading without authorisation (Survey, p42).
The survey of 160 brokers, representing a cross-section of the broking community, also found that a much higher proportion of secondary intermediaries were set to trade without FSA registration.
