Dr Eleanor Linton, Financial Services Authority head of policy forthe high-street firms division, told delegates the FSA's proposed
separation of private and non-private clients - in which businesses of
less than £1m turnover would be classified as private clients - had met
with a negative response. She said: "The market has shown a preference for
a private/non-private divide. Our concern is we will have a wide range of
businesses within the non-private client market."
