Royal & SunAlliance is boosting its small business offering with a
new initiative called Enterprise Plus.

Enterprise Plus aims to supplement the Enterprise offering by picking up
non-standard small business cases. It will offer brokers access to about
20 underwriters, all of whom will consider clients on a case-by-case basis
by telephone.

Simon Cooter, small business manager at RSA, said: "Enterprise currently
picks up about 80% of the small business cases but we want to pick up the
remaining 20%. Brokers should try the Enterprise centres in the first
instance but if they need any kind of referral they will be passed on to
Enterprise Plus. Brokers of any size can use the facility - we don't mind
if they only have one piece of business to pass on."

Cooter said Enterprise Plus would offer contractors' insurance but would
not become a home for distressed business.

He explained: "Contractors are a large part of the small business market
so we will cover them but we will only offer combined policies. We will
expect the businesses involved to take at least two different covers and
will not be offering employer's liability as a stand-alone product."

Enterprise is also rolling out dedicated broker teams for key accounts in
its Enterprise centres. The teams will deal with brokers that have
significant small to medium-sized business accounts but will initially
only deal with about 15 brokers.
