Royal & SunAlliance has called for liability premiums to be increased, in order to meet the rocketing cost of liability claims.Increased claims volumes and higher damages awards have lead to a 25-30% increase in settlement costs over the last couple of years. Conditional fee arrangements and the Court of Appeals decision to increase personal injury awards have contributed to the rising costs.
