Broker Numis is predicting that Hero, Highway's broking retail division, could exceed the group's profit before tax target of £5m. Numis has constructed a steady state scenario of 250,000 policy holders, in which the proportion of new business from the internet increases to 60%. If Hero then generates what Numis considers an achievable policy growth of 10% it estimates pre-tax earnings of £6.1m. Hero's financial year runs from January to December.
