From May, the Financial Services Authority will begin its crackdown on general insurance sellers that failed to become authorised or appointed representatives. The FSA's perimeter project team - including both supervisory and enforcement staff - is currently investigating perimeter mortgage brokers and will extend its focus to general insurance firms. The FSA has dealt with two-thirds of the applications from firms granted interim authorisation status on 14 January, with over 300 remaining
