Everybody loves to talk about the weather, really, don’t they? They like to have a good moan, and compare horror stories. And recently, there have been some great reasons to do so.
Between record rainfall making this the wettest start to a British summer in over a century and hailstones the size of cricket balls, the havoc the weather is wreaking across the UK is reaching incredible levels.
The AA has claimed that £35m will be paid out on the back of damage inflicted to cars during a two-week period, and it is estimated that the total costs of paying for damage caused by recent flooding will be at their highest level since 2007, when insurers faced a bill of £3bn.
