Liquidators reveal estimated £9m hole at broker Anthony Jones

The liquidators of Kent-based Anthony Jones (UK) have released a statement of affairs estimating a £9.22m deficit, with numerous insurance businesses and HMRC facing potential losses, some as high as six figures, after the collapse of the broker.

In a list of 148 company creditors, the glimpse behind the scenes showed Price Forbes at £1m, Clegg Gifford at £514,000, Intact at £507,000, Goodsure Underwriting at £230,000, Allianz at £224,000 and QBE at £205,000 (all figures have been rounded by Insurance Age).

The breakdown continued with RB Jones at £196,000, Lonham Group at £167,000, Modus at £167,000, Victor (Marsh MGA) at £156,000, Zurich – ZPC at £129,000 and MX Special Risks at £120,000.
