Clear buys Lloyd’s wholesale broker

Lloyds

Clear Group has bought Lloyd’s wholesale broker Newman Pearce & Partners, adding to its portfolio after snapping up Lilley Plummer Risks in 2024.

London-headquartered NPP was founded in 2019 by Gordon Newman, Neil Pearce and Colin Rogers. It provides broking services to retail brokers and coverholders seeking access to the Lloyd’s market.

The firm’s specialisms span global specialty, international liability, construction, offshore marine liability and specialist property.

The purchase adds 24 people to the new owner and around £7m of revenue alongside £120m of gross written premium.

Approximately 95% of NPP’s portfolio comes from overseas
