Aviva fraudster jailed after pocketing staff bonuses
The head of key accounts management at Aviva’s York offices has been jailed for expenses fraud.
For more than a year Andrew James Ward claimed expenses for events and journeys he had not made, and diverted to himself Marks & Spencer vouchers intended as staff bonuses, the York Press reported.
An anonymous tip-off alerted his employers to his systematic fraud. Mr Ward pleaded guilty to a £19,426.64 expenses fraud and asked for an attempted fraud of £3,654.50 to be taken into consideration. He was jailed for four months and Aviva has sacked him.
