FSA increases Sants’ car bill by £31,000

Trafic on a motorway

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has admitted it under reported the cost of chief executive Hector Sants’ car benefits by £31,056 in 2010, according to The Times.

The newspaper (subscription required) quoted a spokeswoman who claimed it was an "oversight" but was unable to explain how it happened. It added that the car in question was an Audi A8 which can accelerate from a standing start to 60mph in 6.4 seconds, has a top speed of 153mph and achieves 30 miles to the gallon.

The same oversight also led the regulator to announce an increase of £6,115 for chairman Adair Turner and £25,265 for executive Sally Dewar in their 2010 car benefits.
