Charles Crawford, managing director of NIG, said: "NIG will have a single strategy to enable quicker decision-making through de-layering and greater sharing of best practice.
"Ultimately, our objective is to establish NIG as one of the UK's foremost insurers in the intermediary channel, while taking full advantage of our position as the only commercial insurer
