Deciding to buy FM Green & Co way back in 1972.


Q: What was your worst mistake?


Agreeing to pay for the business by a weekly pension for the previous
owner, who was then 66. He is now 96 and still going strong.


Q: What single event has most affected your career/business?


Winning the Association of British Insurers Crimecheck Award in 1993,
which seemed to open doors that had previously been shut.


Q: Who has had the most influence on your career and why?


My wife
