SME proves lucrative for Westinsure

Westinsure, the self-proclaimed alliance of independent community-based insurance brokers, has created a range of SME deals for its members that currently transact more the £100m of commercial business.

The new SME offerings focus on package and small combined and, according to Westinsure, provide a combination of bespoke policy wordings, tailored service proposition and competitive ratings. The insurer partners in this deal are Allianz, Axa, Ink and NIG although Westinsure MD Norrie Erwin revealed that other insurers had also shown interest.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
