Networking nine to five?

With brokers feeling the pressure due to the changing face of the industry, some are joining networks, for what they anticipate will be the greater security on offer. Tim Rolfe urges brokers to carefully examine the wider implications before they join up

In the face of fast-changing market dynamics brought about by regulation, brokers are being forced to seriously consider their options for the future. But the rush to band together in networks may not always present the best option.

Broker networks are the latest development in the fight to remain competitive. With all the complexities of the Financial Services Authority (FSA) regulations looming, many brokers are turning to a network to provide an essential support tool in the race to comply.
