Two fraudsters jailed after £15,000 crash scam against Axa

The two men were sentenced to a total of 30 months in jail for perverting the course of justice and fraud by false representation.

Two men who tried to defraud Axa out of £15,000 have been jailed for a total of 30 months at Teesside Crown Court.

After Scott Brough, 43, was involved in a traffic accident with an Axa customer in Chester-le-Street in which liability had been disputed, a seemingly independent witness, Carl Wilson, 27, came forward to support Brough's version of events.

This resulted in Axa paying the claim for third party vehicle damage.
